A special request gone wrong!

I am volunteer at a nursing home/retirement village. One of the ladies there rang me and asked did I know some one who would knit a couple of small jumpers for her. She was wanting one for a one year old and a two year old... Seeing I know a few ladies who knit, I told her I could probably fix that up for her. She is willing to pay for it and she would buy the wool. So........I organized for her to get the wool to me and you'd think all went well.....not so! The ladies I had in mind, had no intentions of wanting to do it.......now what???? I felt I'd made the promise so I didn't think it fair to let her down...I decided I would do the job myself. Here's the start of the first one....it's the biggest, so I can see how far I will get with the wool she got me!

helping yet again.

I really do love going to the nursing home facility that I go to, and the lovely ladies there try so hard to "make" something. So this one nearly 90 year old, knitted lots and lots of small coloured squares...then she started to sew some of them together.....then she "hid" the work all together. Several times I had asked her where it was, and for her to get it and bring it, so I could crochet an edge around it for her....she finally brought it out, a bit embarrassed I think. Anyway I told her I'd take it home and see what I could do with it,. She'd sewn about 30 squares together, and still had that many to put to it....so here goes.... This is how it was when I brought it home .... I'd spread it out and had a good look to see what I could do And here it is...done....edge and all hope she likes it! See ya!
